The scaffolding comes down. 9th march, 2017
Original design, created in Adobe illustrator
Malcolm Willett’s design ‘Leaves’ uses bricks as pixels to create a giant image of leaves emerging from the wall itself. The mural is approximately 14 metres high and 7 metres wide and consists of 6,000 individually painted bricks using 9 especially mixed colours supplied by Keim, a specialist exterior paint manufacturer, whose mineral-based pigments won’t fade in the sunshine. The mural can be seen from Newnham Terrace, London SE1 7DR, some of the surrounding streets and one day soon on Google Earth!
